Sondra Perry: Double Quadruple Etcetera Etcetera I & II
TICK TACK is excited to announce Sojourners, a cinema program curated by Allen-Golder Carpenter.
Organized to coincide with the closing of Allen-Golder Carpenter's solo exhibition, the Sojourners cinema program brings together works by artists whose practices resonate with themes of transition, embodiment, memory, and mythology. Each selected work reflects on how our bodies and experiences are shaped by encounters with places, architectures—both social and material—and with the people whose paths intersect with our own.
Featuring works by American Artist, Sondra Perry, Tiffany Sia, Tony Cokes, Richie Culver, Blackhaine, Allen-Golder Carpenter, Devin Kenny, Suni Mullen, Tara Fay Coleman, David Lisbon, Alex Headlam, Jard Lerebours, Allan Gardner, Grayson Earle, Andy Guerrero, Jack Kennedy, Andrew Hunczak, Ronald Baker, Vladdimir Gomez, Margaux Esclapez, Sofia Albrigo, Taína Cruz, Toa Mohemed / Seven, Emmanuel Massillon.

Allen-Golder Carpenter: 'By definition, a sojourner is someone on a journey, usually for either labor or pilgrimage, who eventually will return home. In the Biblical context, they are people in a foreign land, relying on the hospitality and goodwill of others, whilst guided by their own faith.
Of the many times I have “sojourned” to places away from my home, just outside of Washington D.C., from New York, to Berlin and beyond, I have come into contact with countless individuals and the work made by those individuals, works, and perspectives that have not only shaped my perspective on art and the world at large, as well as making me some strong friendships along the way. The project was curated to coincide with the closure of my exhibition at TICK TACK, for which I produced the film ‘Sojourn’. The selection is of artists that I feel reflect the themes and philosophy of the exhibition, around transition, the body and its relationship to tangible and social architecture, memory and mythology. The perspective of not only an artist, but as an individual in general, is shaped and marked by those out in the world that we come into contact with on our journey, our paths, as they cross with the journeys of others, and our respective overlapping footprints on the earth.'
Sojourners will be screened daily from Sunset to Sunrise (CET), live outside TICK TACK’s exhibition space (Mechelsesteenweg 247, 2018 Antwerp) or digitally through the livestream on TICK TACK’s website.
