“Use Value” brings together artists who treat the human figure as a contested image. One shaped by desire, power, and the politics of looking. Across painting, photography, and moving image, the works approach portraiture as something unstable: bodies are staged, fragmented, fetishized, or reclaimed, revealing how identity is constructed and circulated through visual culture.
Presented during the Dallas Art Fair, the exhibition constructs a generationally layered conversation around the body as both subject and battleground. By bringing historically influential practices into proximity with emerging voices, the project underscores how the politics of representation continue to be renegotiated through the image of the human form.
